October 2008
The third week in October saw our Society exhibiting some of
our members as well as the clubs own models at the Midlands
Model Engineering Exhibition at the Warwickshire Exhibition
Centre. Having a stand at this important annual exhibition
allowed us to meet many friends, old and new, meet like minded
enthusiasts from all over the UK, and receive several very
positive new membership enquiries. To see some
photographs of our Society's exhibition stand, and the models
we displayed, please click on the thumbnail on the right.

On Sunday 12 October several of our members accepted an
invitation for another visit to the Derby Model & Experimental
Engineers Society at Morley near Derby. The DMEE have
excellent facilities and a particularly interesting ground
level track layout. Our members thoroughly enjoyed their 'away
day' at Morley, and our thanks go to all of the DMEE
members who made us so welcome !. As a permanent record of a
very special day, members attending took photographs, some of
which can be seen by

October 2008
Our Society was 60 years old in 2007, having been founded as
long ago as 1947. It was arranged that as part of the 60
year celebration members and their partners would have lunch
on the Severn Valley Railway dining train. Unfortunately the
severe flooding of the SVR in June 2007 and the loss of
service between Kidderminster and Bridgenorth meant that the
Society's lunch had to postponed for over 12 months until
October 2008. To see some of the photographs taken (1 year
late !) by members on Sunday 5 October, 2007, please

Bass's Meadow, and allowing us to see their 7 1/4 inch gauge
models at work on our ground level track. Some photographs taken
